The Edwards/Hunter Affair Roundup

There's only one thing you can count on these days -- that the new media is going to be on top of the stories that everyone really wants to know about before the mainstream media decides to jump on it.

This week, it's the Edwards/Hunter scandal. Although covered in blogs and the National Enquirer, the mainstream media neglected to jump on this one until John Edwards (D-rain on Society) tried a half-assed attempt to "clear the air" by trying to cover it up amidst the Olympics on Nightline, not realizing that ABC was going to promote the interview.

Links O' The Day - The Morning Routine Edition

I have another busy day of observations that I have to do today, so again I won't be posting as much. So, as a treat, I'm going to let you into my normal day of link searching, I'm going to post my normal routine of web surfing. And this is in the order that I do it.

1) Yahoo! Mail -- check my e-mail. Lately, the ol' inbox has been full with e-mails from brothers and sisters of my fraternity as well as mystery shopper offers that I solicited.

2) I'll open another tab on the ol' browser and put up this site so that it's handy in case I find any interesting links.

3) Open up another tab and go to Fark to check what occurred overnight.

4) Fox News

5) Dear Abby -- her daughter is writing the column now, but is still sage advice.

6) GoComics -- where I check out For Better of For Worse and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (shut up).

7) Occasionally I go to the Hollywood Stock Exchange where I check on how my movie stocks and bonds are doing. I haven't gone lately only because I'm too scared to.

8) Snopes -- To see if there are any new legends up to check out. I remember during the transition from the Clinton White House to the Bush White House, the status of whether a portion of the building was damaged by staffers went from True to False to "Uhhh, maybe?" within a couple of days.

9) Michelle Malkin -- Check to see what she might have put up overnight.

10) Hot Air -- Same thing.

11) Newsbusters -- Since I used to be in media, this is a special site for me.

12) Moronosphere blogs -- I got into the habit of checking random moronbloggers to see if any of them have anything of interest out there for today. I usually go to doubleplusundead first, then just randomly choose sites, either to ones that I've never been before or see if someone else has posted anything new.

13) Local papers and news sites -- In this order: Citizen of Laconia (who I used to work for), Manchester Union Leader, Concord Monitor, WMUR

14) Premiere and Entertainment Weekly -- just to find fun entertainment bits

Sites like Town Hall and CNN I usually don't explore until later in the day.

Links O' The Day

Again, I have an errand to run this morning before I go do my second classroom observation for school. In the meantime, check out these posts.

Entertainment Weekly: Britney Spears appearance on "How I Met Your Mother" gets show highest ratings so far. I think it was the trainwreck aspect, personally.

Fox News: Children might have found the torn parachute of famed bank robber D.B. Cooper. Didn't we already establish that he died in the fall?

CNN: More on the "pregnant man" in Oregon.

Michelle Malkin: Chelsea Clinton used as a campaign human shield for her parents.

Also, check out any one of the bloggers in the Moronosphere on the right.

Links O' The Day

Sorry this is my first post of the day. I had some errands and a doctor's appointment this morning (good news -- there's still a baby in my tummy), and no stories early this morning caught my eye immediately. But here's a list of links I think you will be interested in.

Hot Air: It's another game of Name That Party!
-- Fred Thompson is going back to what he was doing before running for president.

Michelle Malkin: High school football player may have been killed by an illegal alien gang member.

Newsbusters: HuffPost writer mocks Catholics. Should this be a surprise to anyone?

Pillage Idiot: Advocacy, the Montgomery County, MD, way.

doubleplusundead: His usual list of interesting links from the moronosphere.

little green footballs: Why are war protestors interested in a Catholic Easter Mass?

Mary Katherine Ham: So what has Obama's start of a conversation of race made white people realize?

And watch for this week's Town Hall essay on Wednesday, where I will be delving into whether Obama has elevated the conversation on race.
