Now That It's Over...

*sigh*

I hope and pray that Obama doesn't screw it up.

I know that I am going to be shaking my head for the next four years. And you will probably see me post the occassional comment on what Obama is doing wrong in his administration. But I can't begrudge the guy. He won, and that's all that matters.

I waited until now to post what I thought about all of this because I had an appointment this afternoon, and I had to find a time when Christopher wouldn't be so fussy. But now that I've had time to reflect on all of this, there's only one thing that matters. Life goes on.

McCain ran a bad campaign. The one bright spot that could have meant a win in his column -- Governor Sarah Palin -- he squandered. He blew a lot of chances to attack Obama, but I honestly don't know if that would have made all that big of a difference at this point. Obama had more money, and ran a better campaign, even if it was based on hero worship.

Now that he's going to be president, it's time to focus on the next four years. The senate Democrats didn't get their super majority, which is a good thing. It looks like at this point that Norm Coleman in Minnesota has beaten non-comedian Al Franken for his senate seat. In 2010, we can still turn this around.

We are better than the left. No running to the psychiatrist after the election just because McCain lost. There won't be any Obama Derangement Syndrome from our side. We just have to lose graciously and say to ourselves, "Better luck next time."

Election Day

Remember to go out and vote, people. If you don't, you have no right to complain.

As an aside, remember that presidents need to be consistent in what they believe. Mary Katherine Ham gives us a last push video to remind us why Obama is someone who should not have been running for president.
