Mother Nature Can Play April Fool's Jokes, Too

This is why I am not taking my ultrasound's results for granted when I go in for mine next week.

For months, Sean and Kelly Bresnahan had decorated a bedroom in their Deerfield home with princesses and pink in mind, after getting word that their first child together would be a girl.

All was ready for Kelsea Bresnahan - pink bedding and decorations, even tiny baby girl clothes and blankets. But when the baby was delivered by emergency Caesarian section April Fools' Day morning, Kelsea turned out to be a Kevin.

"All I know is, when they were pulling the baby out, the doctor said 'Now what did they say you were having?'" Kelly Bresnahan said yesterday in a telephone interview from the Elliot Hospital maternity ward. "My husband's mouth dropped, and they're like 'It's a boy.'"

Bresnahan is a teacher at Highland Goffe's Falls School in Manchester. All day yesterday, friends and co-workers thought she was pulling an April Fools' prank on them when she told them about Kevin Patrick Bresnahan.

Kelly Bresnahan's ultrasound was done when she was five months pregnant; the ultrasound photo says "girl" on the top, but something had apparently remained hidden.

Congratulations to the happy couple.
