Well, since we're planning on staying home this year, I'm thinking of getting a small one to put up on a table or one of the cubbies we got cut out of the walls in the house.
This is the tree I'm thinking of. I wonder if hubby will go for it?

For those wondering, this is the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. You can find it at Meijer for $7.99. If you've never seen "A Charlie Brown Christmas," what's wrong with you? Go and watch it now!
Anyway, for those living in a cave the past 41 years, in the story Charlie Brown is commissioned to get a Christmas tree for the annual pageant, but the poor thing he gets is so pathetic the other children get angry because it isn't a "proper" tree. It takes Linus telling the story of the birth of Jesus to get the kids to realize that Christmas isn't about the tree or presents.
Considering that I think that the holiday is really about friends and family and not decorations, I thought this was perfect.
Update: Thanks to Skip at Granite Grok for linking this and the Crap Tree post in his Round the NH Blogs post!
Update 2: I realized that I didn't put my husband's reaction when I showed him the tree.
I called him in to the living room and told him that I had the "perfect tree" for us this year. Hubby took one look at the tree, and immediately said, "I'm not talking to you for five minutes." I guess he's more traditional than I thought. :-) Then again, he won't let me put up a snow village in the theme of "A Christmas Story," either.
