So...Where's My Unicorn?

Now that Obama's president, I'm waiting for my first unicorn sighting.

The Kool Aid drinkers among us (to clarify, these are the Obama supporters that have elevated their expectations of him to such an art form that their expectations of him can not possibly match what he will eventually do in office) were praising the fact that The One was now in office all day today. Even on Anointment day, far lefties just could not let their hate go for Bush. You would think the fact that he's out of office would be enough.

I tried to avoid it most of the day, but when I got home I couldn't let it go entirely. I found myself listening to Rush while he was listening to the poet (and comparing her reading to that of his GPS system), and Rev. Joseph Lowery's "post-race" benediction (which showed that even when we as a nation have proven ourselves to go beyond race to elect someone, we're still "racists" no matter what we do).

So I am currently resigning myself to the idea that I have at least four years of this craziness. In my head, all I see in this supposed "post-race" America is the death of free speech. You can't say anything that offends anyone else (unles it's against Whites and Christians). And that bothers me.
