My 2008 Review

Okay, I'm a day late with this. This is the first chance I've had to sit down and think about it. Everyone else is doing their reviews from the past year. Mine is going to be a little more personal.

January 1, 2008 -- Find out that I am pregnant. True story -- after a year and a half of trying, I had decided to just relax and if something happened, it happened, although in my mind I did have a resolution to get pregnant at some point during the year. Went to the drugstore, took the test, and let it sit on the bathroom sink to develop. Hubby was the first one to spot the test, and ask me how long it took before the results would show up. I went in, thinking it was negative again, and sure enough, it was actually positive.

January 20 -- Started to tell family and friends. Significant because this is also my brother Shawn's birthday, and I wanted to make the idea of him being an uncle a birthday surprise for him. Also found out the same day that my cousin Christina is also pregnant and was due a few days before me.

March -- Lost my job with the paper due to layoffs. Had to start the job hunt at four months pregnant. Started this blog.

April -- Found a new job.

May -- Was fired from new job. Now six months pregnant and wasn't going to actively search for another job until after the baby was born.

June -- Went to McCain town hall in Nashua. Got to ask him a couple of questions.

July -- Diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Started diabetic diet. Discovered that something was going on with my liver that the doctors weren't sure if it was because of the pregnancy or not. Found out it was a pre-pregnancy related illness that can be reversed with diet and exercise.

August 16 -- Have baby shower. Some of my cousins suspected that I was going to go any day now.

August 19 -- Water breaks. They were right. Start induction process.

August 21 -- Christopher Jacob Ingham is born at 12:55 AM. 7 lbs, 5 oz. The doctors praised me for following my diet plan and that he could have been a lot bigger than that if I hadn't followed it.

August 28 -- Cousin Christina has her son Leonardo Anthony at 12:50 AM, a week after I have Christopher.

October -- Went to Sarah Palin rally in Laconia with Christopher. Got a really cool picture of her signing his onesie. Next week saw McCain for the second time that year. Start Avon business at the end of the month.

November - Two other cousins have their babies -- my cousin Jason and his wife have their son Tyler Jay, and my cousin Andrea gives birth to daughter Adrianna a week before Thanksgiving. Also finally start job with transcription company near the end of the month.

December -- Suspect someone has been spiking Christopher's formula with Miracle-Gro -- he now weighs 16 lbs, 5 oz and is 25 3/4 inches long!
