Updates to Jack Thompson Vs. The Florida Bar

I noted earlier this week that a Florida judge has recommended that Jack Thompson be found guilty of 27 misconduct charges against him. Since then, now that GamePolitics.com is up and running on a new server again, there have been updates.

The judge in the case will be holding a hearing in a couple of weeks to make her recommendations for sanctions against Thompson.

The referree, Judge Dava Tunis...wrote that she based her recommendations upon testimony and documents submitted during Thompson's nine-day trial on charges brought by the Florida Bar. While the final ruling on Thompson's status will come from the Florida Supreme Court later this year, Judge Tunis has scheduled a hearing on June 4th to discuss possible sanctions.

Thompson is arguing that she has no authority because she's not REALLY a judge under Florida law, claiming that she didn't sign the loyalty oath.

Whatever. Her recommendations can be found here. (PDF format)
